Eligibility Calculator
This tool shows where your household's income falls on the Massachusetts State Median Income (SMI) chart — one of the four requirements for childcare financial assistance.
Informational only
This calculator does not determine eligibility. Only your local CCR&R can officially decide whether your family qualifies. Use this to understand where you stand before you call.
First, a quick question
Is anyone in your household currently receiving TAFDC (cash assistance), SNAP (food stamps), working with DCF, or experiencing homelessness?
Your eligibility works differently
If you're receiving TAFDC, SNAP, working with DCF, or experiencing homelessness, you may qualify for childcare financial assistance through a referral pathway — regardless of where you land on the income chart. Asset requirements are typically waived, and parent fees are often waived as well.
Learn more about your pathway:
Contact your CCR&R or your DTA/DCF caseworker to start the referral process. To find your CCR&R, call Mass 211 or visit mass.gov/childcare.
Final eligibility is determined by your CCR&R. This tool shows where your household lands on the income chart — one of four requirements. The others are an approved service need, Massachusetts residency, and your child's age and citizenship.
